生命のセントラルドグマを

かいくぐるように

シャペロンは細胞の内部で

タンパク質の生涯を支える

脇役として機能している

この麗しい存在に

気づくこともなく

人類は生を営んでいる。

生命をマクロに見れば

喜怒哀楽の感情や人間関係の中で

幸福に生きるとは何だろうなどと

考えてみたりしている。

マクロな生命を支える脇役も

個体レベルで必要不可欠な存在。

主役がもてはやされるが

実際のところ様々な名脇役の

おかげであることを

忘れないでありたい。

縁の下の力持ちなどと言われるが

それは適材適所の

別な表現でしかない。

すべてが同じ地平線と

すべてが同じ水平線で

時間軸が偶然重なっただけの

行き交う旅人どうし

上も下も右も左も、ない。

個性が輝きをもてば

主役と脇役という

二項対立的な言葉遊びに

付き合う必要はない。

In order to penetrate the central dogma of life,

the chaperones function as supporting actors

within the cells, sustaining the lifetime of proteins.

Unaware of this beautiful existence,

humans go about their lives.

Looking at life from a macro perspective,

we may ponder what it means to live happily,

amidst a range of emotions and human relationships.

Supporting roles that sustain life on a macro level

are also indispensable on an individual level.

While the main characters are celebrated,

we must not forget that they owe much to

the many nameless supporting actors.

While they may be referred to as

“the power behind the scenes,”

this is simply another expression

for the perfect fit

between role and individual.

All travelers passing through the same horizon,

on the same horizontal plane,

only crossing paths by chance on the time axis,

with no above, below, right or left.

If individuality can shine,

there is no need to participate

in the binary opposition

of protagonist and supporting actor.
